How can I convince my parents to let me go to Stanford?
I got a letter requesting me to sign up for the EPGY Summer Institute at Stanford University in CA. I really want to attend, but my overprotective parents won’t let me. What kind of convincing points should I say to them to let me go? They have a problem with the distance (I live in FL).
How old are you? if you are 17 tell them to back off. I don’t even think you will need your parents to sign off on anything if you are that old. Otherwise try to make them understand how good this will be for your resume or how much education this will give you. I am sure there are some numbers they can call or some kind of pamphlet concerning your safety. your parents aren’t the first to ask so I suggest you find those because stanford was probably prepared for being questioned about it.
