How do you learn to write better, when there’s no one to teach you?
Okay, so I’m one of those millions of people who dream of being an author. One of those daydreaming teens who think that Twilight is trash but are secretly resentful and jealous of Smeyer’s success. I’ve been writing stories long before success and money overthrew the innate desire of writer’s to express their dreams and publish them for the world to see, just because they loved to do so.
But there’s a hitch. I write and I write but I don’t feel I’m getting any better…I read and re-read popular fiction, bestsellers and how-to books on writing…but still the progress isn’t evident to me. And there’s no one but my spiteful siblings, parents and teachers to read my work… the opinions of which are not equal to those of a professional.
How on Earth am I supposed to get better at writing!?
As I’m 15, University courses on creative writing are presently out of reach…so any other ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated 
Go back and read the classics. Read Dostoevsky and Nabokov. And practice.
